BARBARA H. SCHMITT, a Brazilian producer, screenwriter and children's book author based in Norway. She has extensive expertise in both live-action and animation.
She holds a Master’s degree in Film Production from the Norwegian Film School, where she specialised in intellectual property development and animation, and a Bachelor’s degree in Screenwriting from Sweden. With over a decade of experience in film and TV series production in Sweden, she has contributed significantly to producing film festivals across Scandinavia and organising cultural workshops for children and teens. Recognised for her dedication to inclusivity, she has been honoured with the Turbopris Award for promoting minority participation in cultural activities among young audiences. Additionally, she participated in the European Talent program in animation at Animation Production Days in Stuttgart, Germany and Nordic Film Producers in Cannes.
Her work is defined by an audience-centred approach, focusing on understanding and aligning with the interests and perspectives of younger viewers.
